Tell us about yourself and what inspired you to become an Aesthetician?
Well, my name is Chidimma, but everyone calls me Chi! I began doing bridal makeup in 2016, and many of my clients’ main concerns were their skin. I started curating products and sending them personalized recommendations, which led me to dive deeper into ingredients. I knew then that I wanted to become an esthetician – before I even knew what an esthetician was.
When I began looking at schools, I didn’t have much luck (or money). One night, as I was pulling into my driveway, a radio commercial came on about a cosmetology school. I wasn’t able to catch the name or full number, but I managed to get the last four digits and found them on Google. When I enrolled, I received a full scholarship, and from that moment, I knew this was path was meant for me.
After some doodling between classes, I came up with the name and logo: Ugo Beauty and Artistry. Since then, my team, this company, and I have grown into more than just a spa – we’ve created a place of refuge, love, inspiration, and so much more.
How long have you been an aesthetician, and what is your favorite part?
I’ve been an esthetician since 2018, and my favorite part of what I do is making my clients laugh while pouring into them. Our time together is filled with full-belly laughs and deep life conversations, I like to call it Thermedy (therapy + comedy).
I’ve had the privilege of watching my clients graduate high school and college, get engaged and married, care for their parents, welcome newborn babies, buy their first homes, start new careers, and so much more. My favorite part of this job is being on the journey with them.
It is the greatest honor to share moments that turn into lifetime memories. My purpose will always be to make others feel good – especially my amazing team. I always say, I am only as great as my team is.

What is the last song you played?
“Bless the Telephone” by Labi Siffre
Where or what is the best place you’ve ever been to?
Tucson, Arizona. The mountains and the sun warming your skin ( with Skin Script sunscreen, of course) are an experience all their own. Tucson gave me a new perspective – and deeper understanding of how me coexist with the Earth.
What are your must-have Skin Script Products?
G.R.E.E.N T.E.A! The GOAT of Skin Script cleansers. If I were stranded on an island and could only bring one product, it would hands down be the Green Tea Cleanser.
A close second is the Glycolic Cleanser – I use it head to toe as a full-body exfoliating treatment. Honestly, I could keep listing favorites, but I can’t forget the Hydrating Moisturizer. It seals everything in and leaves my skin feeling light, nourished, and never heavy.
How has Skin Script changed your business?
Skin Script has truly changed the lives of our clients and our company. It has empowered, nurtured, and given our clients the confidence to see the true beauty in their skin.
During the pandemic, Skin Script helped me keep us afloat as we created mini Skin Script kits and at-home regimens for our clients. It was one of the biggest saving graces for both me and my business during that time.
Skin Script is the only brand I have ever retailed – and the only one I will continue to retail. In our backbar, we use every Skin Script product and proudly hold it as our #1 professional line. The level of care, chemistry, and intention poured into Skin Script is what continues to support our business and our clients every day.
